Stop Caring

The darkness consumed me
as the tide grew high.

The darkness consumed me
playing away with my death.

But I STOPPED.

I stopped caring,
I stopped hoping.
And I stopped loving.

And then the darkness
enveloped me in a hug.

A hug meant for a friend,
someone who mattered.
And I mattered to this darkness.

Because now I realized
the beauty of darkness.

Don’t be afraid
for the darkness
may be of pain.

Don’t be afraid,
for the darkness
may be of comfort.

Open your heart to yourself,
and you will see your beauty
every moment that you rise.
